Trust me It's not selfish.
You won't be worried about that if you are physically, mentally, and emotionally drained. I rarely took care of myself and I would beat myself down comparing and worrying. I talked to my small group and they made reminded me that I need to take care of myself and take a break from social media. I actually took the time to get to know myself and schedule days to pamper myself. Don't get me wrong if you do one of these self-care ideas once it won't magically transform you. But implementing some self-care habits in your life will improve your attention to your mind, body, and soul. I hope you find a self-care idea you can practice.

Self Care Ideas
1. Unplug
Social Media is so much fun to be on! You can check in on your friends and family or scroll on Pinterest for hours. However, sometimes social media makes you feel jealous when your scrolling through instagram. Let me tell you this there is nothing to be jealous about because social media is the highlight reel of someone's life. We end up being jealous and comparing our lives to others.
One of my favorite self care ideas is to spend a few hours away from my phone and take a deep breath and go do something. Another thing I enjoy is editing my social media feeds and removing any negativity in my life. What I mean by that is I remove anybody that makes me feel less than or promoting something that I don't need in my life.
2. At Home Spa Day
I love doing at home spas! It's so relaxing to lounge around in your cozy robe and have your candle next to you while you do your nails and face mask.
Here are my must have's for my at-home spa day that your can add to you self care routine.
3.CREATE A SELF CARE KIT
Create the ultimate self-care kit! Put all your favorite things that help you relax in a box or a basket. You can include socks, photos, candles, lip balms, albums, or a book.
4. LISTEN TO YOUR FAVORITE ALBUM
Girl, put your record on and blast your music and sing your heart out. Nothing boosts my spirits when I sing and shake my booty!
5.BUBBLE BATH
I love adding bubbles to my bath it is very relaxing and it makes it 10x better when you add essential oils. If you live in a dorm or anywhere without a tub use a shower bomb.
6.JOURNALING
I found this self-care idea helpful. It helps me connect with my true feeling. I promise you'll feel so relieved to let go of harboring feelings.
7.EXERCISE
This self-care idea is not for everybody. But go for a run and listen to your favorite music while working out.
8.MEDITATE
Just takes some time to inhale and exhale to practice mindfulness.
9.DRINK YOUR FAVORITE TEA OR COFFEE
Have some quiet time while you drink your favorite tea or coffee. I'm not sure if it's only me but I love looking out the window while I drink my tea. it's soothing and allows me to process my feelings.
10.DECLUTTER
Nothing feels better than getting rid of stuff that you no longer need. It'll feel like a weight off your shoulders when you reorganize.
11.PRACTICE GRADITUDE
I recently began asking myself every morning who and what I am grateful for. By doing this it makes me appreciate what I have currently in my life instead of comparing and focusing on lack. I began to notice when I began gratitude and not focusing on lack of things in my life started to grow like relationships and my blogging life flourished. I would recommend adding this to your self-care routine.
12.HAVE A CUDDLE SESSION WITH YOUR PET
Petting your pets have been proven to improve a positive mindset. If you don't have a pet try visiting a shelter.
13.Listen to a podcast
Find a podcast that may interest you. There are tons of free podcasts on your iPhone, Spotify, and Youtube. A few of my favorite podcasters that I have added into my self-care routine.
14.BAKE
Go bake your favorite goodies. You improve your skills and at the end have a delicious treat.
15. WATCH YOUR FAVORITE MOVIE
Put on your favorite movie and cuddle into your favorite blanket. I highly recommend any Disney movie. It always boosts my spirit and makes me feel like a little kid!
16.PLaY
This may sound a bit weird, but it's important to play and let loose. I encourage you to play and find out what makes you feel like you were when you were a child. I found this article about playing with your inner child and I found all of these activities so much fun.
17. COLORING
Go to the dollar store and get a coloring book. Study shows that coloring can actually relax your brain.
18. TALK TO SOMEONE
Go talk to someone who you trust. If you are going through something there is always someone that will be there for you.
19.POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS
Use positive affirmations to remind yourself of who you are. For example, mine is I am strong, confident, and beautiful.
20. READ A BOOK
Curl up and reread your favorite book or a self-motivating book on happiness.

21. PRAY
If you are religious just take a moment and pray about things you are grateful for and ask for guidance. I feel like my prayers are answered each time I pray and it justs strengthens my faith.
