Decorating your dorm room can be such an exciting time but also overwhelming. When I was shopping for my dorm room, I scoured the internet to find the cheapest and cutest dorm decor, bedding, dorm essentials, and more that every freshman needs.
Having gone through this stressful process of moving into my dorm room my first year, I have collected the best places to shop for your dorm room that I wish I had when moving into college. Whether you are looking for planners or cute dorm decor, this list contains where you can find all these things.

Here are the best places to buy dorm stuff
Where to Buy Dorm Stuff:
1. Amazon
The most obvious place to buy your dorm essentials is Amazon.
I love Amazon because they have almost everything you can think of, it's affordable, and the best part is you can receive free two-day shipping with Amazon Prime.
If you have access to your student email, you can sign up for Amazon Prime Student, which will give you six months free when you first join and discounted price afterward. I recommend searching on Amazon for your dorm room decor or organization products.
2. Target
I love Target. Who doesn't?!
Target has always been a go-to for me when it comes to shopping for college essentials. Target is definitely at the top of the best places to buy cute dorm decor. My favorite part about Target is they have a whole section in the store where you can find dorm essentials like bedding, bathroom essentials, and school supplies.
3. Bed Bath and Beyond
Bed Bath & Beyond is the place for appliances, bathroom organization, or shower caddies. This is where I recommend shopping for the dorm basics that you want to get out of the way.
They also provide a 20% store coupon if you sign up and download the app.
My favorite thing about Bed Bath & Beyond is that, depending on your college, they have a program to send your purchase to your school, so you don't have to carry it until move-in day.
4. PB Teen
PB Teen is on the pricer side but has one of the best bedding options for your dorm room. If you're looking for a preppier look, they have great options for preppy dorm decor.

5. Dormify
Dormify is the Holy Grail of dorm decor. They offer stylish college dorm room decor that gives you endless inspiration for design ideas that you want for your room.
Even if you don't buy anything from here, an excellent feature on their website is they have a dorm room visualizer that help put together different bedspreads, throw pillows, or blankets to help build you a look.
They also provide a service for you to purchase and ship to your college. If you want that Pinterest-worthy room, this is the place to go.
6. Ikea
I bought a nightstand from Ikea for my dorm room, and it was completely affordable and easy to put together. This is the central hub for college apartments or dorm rooms if you want cheap furnishing for good quality.

HomeGoods stores are great for shopping for dorm decor.
They have a variety of your needs, whether you are looking for bathroom items, bedding, or small decor items. In addition, they have all your needs at very affordable prices.

8. Etsy
Etsy is a good site to shop for unique DIY dorm decor. Each dorm decor is handmade, and they offer items like posters, tapestries, and other products.
Most Etsy small business owners have options that you can customize pieces that fit your personality or have your name on them.

RedBubble is an awesome place to get stickers. I know you are thinking, "why would I want stickers?"
But it is a great way to show your personality through these stickers that you can place on your computer or water bottle that is a great conversation starter when you're trying to make new friends.

Society6 is an online store where you can find gorgeous wall decor. Whether you're looking for wall art or tapestries, this is a place to go. They have numerous designs that will fit your dorm aesthetic.
11. Urban Outfitters
Urban Outfitters not only sells clothes but also sells dorm essentials. They have a wide range of furniture, decor, bedding, and even bath products that you can get for your dorm room.
So if the dorm aesthetic you are going for is Boho, this is the place to shop for those things. A bonus for Urban Outfitters is that they also have student discounts that you could use when shopping.

DormCo is your one-stop-shop. They have a wide range selection perfect for your tiny dorm room, from cute headboards to dorm packages.
13. At Home
If you have an At Home near you, I highly recommend going there. At Home is a huge store filled with furniture and Home Decor.
They have aisles of wall decor, lighting, pillows, and every home good that you could think of. They also have a dorm set up, usually in front of the store, with different aesthetics that you could look at and grab inspiration from.
14. Hobby Lobby
Hobby Lobby is my second home. They have cute wall decor and a variety of knick-knacks that you can have in your dorm room. They also always have some sales going on. So I recommend looking online at your local Hobby Lobby and seeing what kind of sales they have going on.
15. The Container Store
Did you know there's a store that has all your organizational needs? I am so serious.
The Container Store provides various storage solutions that you need for your dorm room. If you want to keep your dorm room organized, this is the place to go. They also have a college section that contains all your storage and organization needs that you need for your dorm room.
However, the only thing about The Container Store is that it is a little pricey but has higher quality. I recommend checking out Amazon or Target first before looking into here.
16. Wayfair
Whether you are looking for a dorm or your first apartment, this is a great place to get your place furnished. Wayfair is an online retailer with lots of affordable furniture and home decor that you can look into.
17. Walmart
Walmart stores are everywhere and are a great place to get your necessities.
Cleaning supplies, office supplies, toiletries, and decor. Don't undermine Walmart. They do have some cute dorm decor. Walmart is where I got most of my dorm kitchen essentials and got amazing deals.
